Fan-Div
Weather in oil and gas regions and what it means for fans
Announcement

Nick Agius, the Fan Guy, joins Fan-Div as Founding Partner.

In the fan world, one name comes first: Nick Agius.

The man who designed the DG-II® is now part of the company that distributes it. Nick has been dedicated to fans for 48 straight years and has been to every refinery in Canada. Same team you already know, now operating independently as Fan-Div.

He designed the DG-II®

Nick designed and patented the DG-II® Anti Rotation Device, the device that stops an air cooler fan windmilling backwards when the motor is off. Fan-Div is its exclusive Canadian distributor.

And the E-Bell™

He created the world’s first fiberglass adjustable sectional elliptical inlet bell, the E-Bell™, and introduced it to the air cooled heat exchanger aftermarket. It feeds the blade tips properly so the fan moves more air, it runs quieter, and it is deep enough to block hot air trying to recirculate back into the inlet. Fan-Div is the global distributor.

He's published on it

Nick has written widely on Air Cooled Heat Exchanger optimization and axial fans, including in Hydrocarbon Processing. His papers are at thefanguy.ca.

What changed, and what didn't

Same people. Same work.

Fan-Div now operates independently, with the same team customers already work with.

  1. The team is the same. The people you've been calling about fan assemblies, blades, belts and bearings are the same people. Same phone conversations, same knowledge of your units.
  2. Nick is now officially part of it. He has worked alongside this team for years. As Founding Partner, the complex designs go past him, just like they always have. Now it's official.
  3. We're independent. Fan-Div stands on its own. That means decisions about stock, engineering and how we look after your units get made by the people doing the work.

What this means for your fans

  • Design input from the person who created the products, not a reseller reading a catalogue
  • Exclusive Canadian supply of the DG-II®, global supply of the E-Bell™
  • Fan re-rates and management of change work backed by a P.Eng
  • The same parts supply for blades, hubs, belts, bearings and motors
