The deep bell prevents vena contracta at the blade tips, so the fan runs smoother and moves more air at 3 dBA less noise. Nick is the creator and patent holder of the DG-II Anti-Rotation Device® and the Elliptical Bell (E-Bell™) inlet system which he introduced to the aftermarket. Why it matters
Why fans windmill backwards.
Shut a fan off and the ones beside it keep pushing air through the cell. That backdraft spins the stopped fan in reverse. Start the motor into a fan turning the wrong way and you get belt and gearbox shock, blown fuses, and a hazard for anyone working nearby.
