Aerovent's AHX is an all aluminum, adjustable pitch fan impeller for heat exchangers, cooling towers and oil coolers, from 54 to 144 in with 4 or 6 blades. We supply Aerovent impellers and parts, and we replace and upgrade Aerovent fans already in service.
Sizes covered: 54, 60, 72, 81, 84, 93, 96, 108, 120, 132 and 144 in.
Aerovent, part of Twin City Fan Companies, sells the AHX as its Macheta® fan, named for its trailing edge blade design.
Aerovent AHX impeller
- Diameters
- 54, 60, 72, 81, 84, 93, 96, 108, 120, 132 and 144 in (1,375 to 3,660 mm). The 60 in size comes with the L blade only.

- Blade angle
- 10° to 24°, adjustable in the field with a bubble level protractor
- Construction
- All aluminum. Hub and blades are precision cast, by permanent mold or sand casting.
- Hub
- 14 in hub on the 54 to 72 in sizes, 18 in hub on 81 in and up. Taper lock bushings.
- Rotation
- Right hand or left hand, viewed from the discharge side. Set at the factory.
- Rated tip speeds
- 11,000 to 15,000 ft/min
- Performance
- Airflow up to 328,600 CFM (558,300 m³/h) and static pressure up to 1.5 in w.g. (370 Pa), per Aerovent

Reading an AHX designation
Aerovent's AHX designations read casting, then rotation, then diameter in inches:
- PM: permanent mold casting. SC: sand cast.
- SCLS: sand cast L blade.
- RH or LH: right or left hand rotation, viewed from the discharge side.
- The number is the diameter in inches.
For example, SC108RH is a sand cast, right hand, 108 in impeller.
Aerovent AHX-E impeller
The smaller sibling, for condenser fans, coolers and heat exchangers. Per Aerovent: 14 to 48 in (355 to 1,220 mm), 4 or 8 blades, die cast aluminum airfoil blades on a two piece hub with a split taper lock bushing, rated to 275°F, with airflow up to 50,000 CFM and static pressure up to 2.5 in w.g. (620 Pa).

Before you order.
What sizes does the Aerovent AHX come in?
Aerovent makes the AHX in eleven diameters: 54, 60, 72, 81, 84, 93, 96, 108, 120, 132 and 144 in, with 4 or 6 blades. The smaller AHX-E covers 14 to 48 in.
Can I change the blade angle on an AHX impeller?
Yes. Aerovent's AHX blades adjust in the field from 10° to 24°. More pitch moves more air but takes more power, so check the motor load before you increase it. Our fan laws calculator shows what a change does: fan-div.com/tools/fan-laws/.
Can you replace or upgrade an existing Aerovent fan?
Yes. We supply Aerovent impellers and parts, and we replace and upgrade Aerovent fans already in service. Tell us what you're running and we'll match it.
