Howden E series fan parts: ENF, ELF and ELFA
The Howden E series (ENF, ELF and ELFA) are fixed pitch axial fans with integral shaft FRP airfoil blades, from 4 to 48 ft with 3 to 10 blades, for field erected and packaged cooling towers, air cooled heat exchangers and air cooled condensers. Howden rates them at up to 10 dB(A) quieter than standard fans. Fan-Div supplies replacement parts for Howden E series fans, and upgrades older fans to them where that makes sense.

Howden builds the E series with the shaft integral to the FRP blade, to avoid stress at a mechanical joint, and says the E series is ATEX compliant. Howden reports that replacing fans with ELFA at a German refinery gave 30% more air and 13 dB(A) less noise.
How Howden builds its fans
Howden builds its cooling fans with fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) blades and polyurethane coated steel hubs. The standard operating range is -20°C to 65°C (-4°F to 149°F), extendable on request, and Howden's oil and gas literature rates its FRP fans for 500°F for 4 hours in a fire case. Howden tests fan performance to ISO 5801 and AMCA standards at its test rig in Hengelo, Netherlands.

Howden says its E series fans are ATEX compliant. Check the rating on the fan you're running against your site's hazardous area classification.

Yes. Howden builds the E series for horizontal or vertical mounting.
