Hudson Tuf-Lite® fan parts
Hudson Tuf-Lite fans run on air cooled heat exchangers, air cooled condensers and cooling towers from 6 to 30 ft. We supply replacement blades, hubs and fans for Hudson Tuf-Lite fans and Fin-Fan® air cooled heat exchangers, matched to your fan. Fan-Div supplies replacement parts for them: hub assemblies, hub parts, seal discs, blade clamps and hardware, plus upgrades for fans whose blades are no longer made. Find your series below, or get in touch and we'll match the parts for you.
Pick your hub series.
The series is on the nameplate or in the plant's fan data sheet. Not sure? The diameter and blade colour narrow it down fast.
How to read a Hudson nameplate
The adjustable pitch code reads APT, then diameter in feet with the blade
letter, then blade count, then shaft bore. APT 14K 6 2 7/8" BORE is a 14 ft
Tuf-Lite III fan with 6 blades on a 2 7/8" shaft. Large fans are often ordered without
the bore, as in APT 28K 8.
| Letter | Blade | Colour | Series |
|---|---|---|---|
| H | Tuf-Lite II | White, blue before March 2006 | 3000H |
| K | Tuf-Lite III | White on smaller fans, teal green on the 5000K | 3000K, 5000K |
| KW | Tuf-Lite III wide chord | White | 4000KW |
| M | Tuf-Lite IV | Black | 4000M, 5000M |
Ultra high temperature (UHT) blades are burnt orange.
Bushings by shaft size
| Bushing | Shaft range | Series |
|---|---|---|
| Q-2 | 1" to 2.62" | 3000H, 3000K, 4000KW, 4000M |
| R-2 | 2.68" to 3.62" | All six |
| S-2 | 3.68" to 4.19" | 4000KW, 4000M, 5000K, 5000M |
| U-1 | 4.25" to 5.50" | 5000K, 5000M |
Blades, obsolete lines and replacements
Tuf-Lite blades are individually balanced, so one blade can be replaced at a time without a matched set. Tuf-Lite I, the original 1950s epoxy blade, is only available in limited diameters. Tuf-Lite II is now only sold new in 34, 36 and 40 ft, and Hudson moves replacement projects to Tuf-Lite III. If your fan runs H blades, see the 3000H page for the K blade upgrade. Blade part numbers aren't in Hudson's manuals, so we match blades to your fan's diameter, blade count and hub.

Worth knowing.
Do you supply parts for Fin-Fan® coolers?
Yes. Fin-Fan® is Hudson's name for its air cooled heat exchangers. We supply replacement blades, hubs, seal discs, belts and complete fans for them, including upgrades for obsolete H series blades. Tell us what you're running and we'll call you back with the right parts. We're an independent supplier and aren't affiliated with Hudson Products or Chart Industries.
How do I read a Hudson fan nameplate?
The adjustable pitch code reads APT, then the diameter in feet with the blade letter, then the blade count, then the shaft bore. APT 14K 6 2 7/8" BORE is a 14 ft Tuf-Lite III fan with 6 blades on a 2 7/8" shaft. H is Tuf-Lite II, K is Tuf-Lite III, KW is Tuf-Lite III wide chord and M is Tuf-Lite IV.
Why does a fan pitched in summer overload the motor in winter?
Cold air is denser, so a fan moves more mass and draws more power at the same pitch. If the pitch is set in summer to use the full nameplate amps, the motor can overload in winter. A design pitch usually leaves headroom for that.
What does the seal disc on a Hudson fan do?
It closes off the centre of the fan so hot air can't recirculate back down through the hub. Size depends on the series, diameter and blade count.
How accurately is Tuf-Lite blade pitch set?
To within plus or minus 0.2 degrees, measured about 1 inch in from the blade tip. Hudson's pitch setting tool is the 62375 Exact-A-Pitch digital protractor.
