Moore fan parts and upgrades
Moore Fans has built axial fans since 1940, and its fans run on air cooled heat exchangers and cooling towers across Western Canada. Its current lines are Class 20000, Class 10000 and Class 1000, and plenty of older Class 5000 fans are still in service. Fan-Div supplies replacement parts for Moore fans, and upgrades older ones to higher efficiency fans where that makes sense.
Moore fan classes
Class 1000
Moore's small fans, 24 to 60 in (2 to 5 ft), with twisted and tapered blades in 5052 marine aluminum. Call us for parts.
Class 20000
Moore's largest fans, up to 40 ft. Call us for parts.
How to read a Moore nameplate
Moore nameplates give the class and the series. Newer fans add letter codes for the duty and the blade chord:
- SD: Standard duty
- HD: Heavy duty, engine drive rated
- SC: Standard chord
- HS: Standard chord, high speed
- EC: Extended chord
- XC: Xtra wide chord
- MAG: Minimum acoustic geometry, Moore's low noise blade
- CSP: Moore's automatic (pneumatic) pitch fans

Upgrading older Moore fans
Older aluminum fans can often be replaced with higher efficiency fans. On one SAGD site in Alberta in 2018, 16 low efficiency Moore fans were converted to high efficiency fans. Tip speed went from 8,000 to 10,000 ft/min, with timing belts, inlet bells and DG-II Anti Rotation Devices®, and the site no longer had to cut production on 34°C days. See the result.
Every fan is different. We check the duty against the fan curve, the drive and the motor, and sometimes the answer is keep what you have.

Is Moore Fans still in business?
Yes. Moore Fans has built axial fans since 1940, and its current lines are Class 20000, Class 10000 and Class 1000. Older Class 5000 fans aren't among the lines Moore lists as current, but many are still running.
Which Moore class is my fan?
The nameplate gives the class and series. As a rough guide, Class 1000 fans are small, 24 to 60 in. Class 5000 fans are older aluminum fans up to about 16 ft. Class 10000 covers heavy duty fans up to 34 ft, automatic pitch and low noise designs.
